1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Dynasty Football Reference ("DFR," "we," "our," or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

DFR is a fantasy football analytics platform that connects to your ESPN fantasy football league to provide historical statistics, matchup archives, and AI-generated content including beat reporter coverage and league narratives. The Service offers both free and paid subscription tiers.

3. Account Registration and ESPN Credentials

To use certain features of the Service, you must provide your ESPN fantasy football credentials. By providing these credentials, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are authorized to access the ESPN league(s) you connect
  • You have the right to share league data with third-party services
  • Your use complies with ESPN's terms of service

Your ESPN credentials are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption before storage. We never store or access your password in plain text. You may disconnect your credentials at any time through the Settings page.

4. Subscription and Billing

DFR offers a free tier with limited features and a paid "Diamond" subscription with full access. For paid subscriptions:

  • Subscriptions are billed annually based on your league size
  • Payment grants Diamond access to all managers in the connected league
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time
  • Upon cancellation, you retain Diamond access until the end of your billing period
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact us for assistance

5. AI-Generated Content

DFR uses artificial intelligence to generate content including but not limited to beat reporter articles, weekly recaps, and league narratives. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content is created for entertainment purposes
  • Content may contain inaccuracies, fictional elements, or creative interpretations
  • Generated content does not represent the views of DFR or its operators
  • You should not rely on AI-generated content for any decision-making purposes

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service through automated means
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization
  • Use credentials belonging to others without their permission

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-provided data and AI-generated content based on your league data), is owned by DFR and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your league data remains yours. AI-generated content created from your league data is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

8. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. We collect and process your data as necessary to provide the Service, including your ESPN credentials (encrypted), league data, and usage information. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. For payment processing, we use Stripe, which handles your payment information according to their privacy policy.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including ESPN (for league data) and Stripe (for payment processing). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH ESPN OR ANY FANTASY FOOTBALL PLATFORM. HISTORICAL DATA ACCURACY DEPENDS ON ESPN'S DATA AVAILABILITY AND MAY CONTAIN GAPS OR ERRORS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DFR AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict of law principles.
